The strategic planning process involves commissioners, department heads, elected officials, staff and the public. These stakeholders work towards creating effective county government by defining objectives and goals; creating a task list with actionable items, resources, and deadlines; how to align the departments and resources to meet objectives; and defining internal controls and how results will be measured.
WHO IS DOING THE PLAN?
In spring of 2019 the County did a Request For Proposals (RFP) and selected Moss Adams to be the planning consultant. Moss Adams started interviewing county elected officials and staff, as well as representatives from the community, in September. They will meet with the cities and ports on October 1. A ‘kick-off’ meeting will be held on October 2 at 9:00 a.m. as part of the Board of Commissioners Regular Meeting. After that Commissioners meeting town hall meetings will be scheduled to solicit public input.
